Matt’s Top Ten

This top ten is in no specific order, it is meant for you the reader to look at and maybe get some ideas from.  So with that set aside let us start this list shall we?
1.    “The Book of Basketball” by Bill Simmons- Now I know what you’re thinking why he would recommend a book about the NBA.  Well, simply put, it is a very knowledgeable and humorous book that tells you a lot of funny and random things about the NBA.  Plus it is really cheap with it going as low as $12 on amazon.com.
2.    Blackhawks Ticket- These might be expensive now-a-days (being that it is the hottest ticket in town) but there is no bad reason to go down and support the Hawks.  Speaking as a sport geek and as a die-hard, there is nothing better than going down to the United Center and seeing the passionate fans cheering on their beloved team.  It is truly awe-inspiring.
3.    NHL 10- Continuing with the hockey theme one of my two video game selections that I think you should get for the holidays.  The graphics and game play are amazing.  It is a great game to play with friends and you can start some pretty nasty competitions.
4.    FIFA Soccer 10- I know that you’re thinking that I must be crazy for having this on my top ten.  But you should start to embrace the global phenomenon that is soccer.  This game is constantly rated as the best sports game around.  Plus it will introduce your sports geek to a beautiful game.
5.    Sports Jersey- Now your sport can support their favorite team in style, and also cause jealousy amongst their friends.  There are ton of jerseys out there that you can buy.  Bonus points for the retro styled jerseys.
6.    Ping Pong Table- Probably the most chaotic and fun game you can ever play.  It will never cease to provide entertainment for your sports geek.  It might stretch your pocketbooks but it is well worth the purchase.
7.    Big Screen TV- This one is geared more towards the older guys because what doesn’t make sports better than a big screen TV.  Now all the guys reading this are nodding their heads in agreement.  It makes every game for any sport 100000 times better.
8.    Baseball Glove- Once again you are confused as why this is on the list.  It isn’t flashy, isn’t spectacular, and it is pretty cheap, but that is what makes it great.  Give this to your future sports geek it will provide great memories of playing catch in your front yard.
9.    HD Sports Package- This and #7 are a great combination for your sports geek
10.    Sports Movie- Doesn’t matter what one it could be Hoosiers, Miracle, or Remember the Titans but as long as you get them one they can’t complain.
