Too Easy, Big Easy
February 11, 2010If you know what my title means, well that is a good thing because those are the 2 huge things going on at LT.
First off, the boys basketball team is STILL undefeated after beating both Glenbard West and Proviso East (which was Pack the Place) this past weekend. But what I want to talk about was the lack of sportsmanship by one of the Proviso East players. Possibly as to be one of the worst ways to go. I mean first he rejects a helping hand from Junior Forward Nick Burt and then decides to tackle, stomp on, and hold down Senior Guard Jimmy Stamas. What makes this even crazier is that the refs didn’t even call anything on this player. Once again becoming “A Bonehead Moment in Sports.” Also this Saturday LT plays Downers Grove North at the North Campus Fieldhouse at 6pm, you can tune into WLTL 88.1 FM for the broadcast.
Now to talk about Lombardi Gras (get it Mardi rhymes with Lombardi, haha yeah sorry about that). To be honest I didn’t really care who won this Super Bowl because no matter who won we would witness history. A quick side note the Doritos commercials were quality, Arcade Fire was played at least 322409432907234 times, I was surprised Kim Kardashian was not really shown at all (or at least not that I remember), and this was the most watched TV event in history with 106.5 MILLION people watching it. I mean we had the chance to witness Peyton Manning stacking his claim as possibly the greatest quarterback ever (or at least of his playing era, sorry Tom Brady), or we could have seen the inspirational, dynamic, creative Saints squad finally deliver their city a championship. Luckily we got to see the later because who can’t be emotional at the moment where Drew Brees was with his son (by the way nice headphones), possibly one of the more enduring moments of Super Bowl history. Really the Saints deserved it because if I could compare them to a fictional sports team it would have to be the Mighty Ducks/USA juniors team in Mighty Ducks 2, while the Colts were that team from Iceland. If you don’t get that reference then check out that movie and also we will try to get more blogs up.
